یک قلم
PostScript Type\~1
در قالب باینری قلم چاپگر
(PFB)
را به قالب اسکی قلم چاپگر
(PFA)
تبدیل کرده و خطوط بیش از حد طولانی در بسته‌های متنی را به بخش‌های کوچک‌تر تقسیم می‌کند.

مشخص نشود،
فایل PFB از جریان ورودی استاندارد خوانده خواهد شد.

قلم PFA در جریان خروجی استاندارد نوشته خواهد شد.
